Ah, play spaces — little paradises for sweet, innocent young ones. But where do you go when your kid ages out of them (aka: when he threatens to steamroll the entire joint in a few single bounds)? Transition to bigger, more active arenas, where physical activity is king. Click through our album to discover the local places where the activity and energy is full blast.

Pump It Up

We have yet to meet a kid who does not love to jump, and Pump It Up gives little jumpers a wide range of jump options. With dedicated spaces and times for little ones (starting at age two) and bigger kids, it keeps wee ones safe and lets older kids bounce like crazy. Pump It Up also allows parents on some of the inflatables so you can keep an eye on your adrenaline junkie – or just have some jumping fun yourself! We love the Friday Night Glow jump with black and disco lights and all jumpers wearing glow necklaces. Insider tip: While there are a number of locations throughout the Chicago area, each Pump It Up is run independently so check your location’s online calendar (updated weekly) for open jump details.

Downtown location at 821 W. Eastman St. Locations also in Crystal Lake, Elmhurst, Glenview, Lisle, Orland Park & Schaumburg (312-664-7867 or pumpitupparty.com)
