Cheyenne, Wy

Get ready for a real Old-Western experience. The Wild West is not a thing of the past in Cheyenne. For some of the most beautiful natural sculptures on earth, visit the Vedauwoo Recreation Area in the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest. It’s about 27 miles west of Cheyenne proper, and we promise you will be stunned by the massive stone sculptures created by ice, wind and water. Back in Cheyenne, go on a Wild West Trolley Tour and learn about how Cheyenne came to be. When you are done, catch a gunslinger show downtown and witness an epic battle between good and bad. Saddle up at the Terry Bison Ranch where the bison roam and you can feed them by hand right before you enjoy some horseback riding. For accommodations, check out the The Little America Hotel & Resort ($134/night) that includes a new outdoor play area for kids.
