Texas Ranch Life in Chappell Hill, Texas

One of the coolest things about this resort is that it is a working cattle ranch so you and the kids will get the real-deal but still have a relaxing and luxurious time. Located about an hours west of Houston, the 1800- Lonesome Pine Ranch was settled back in 1823 and is home to quarter horses, American bison, wildlife galore and, of course, Texas Longhorn steer. The accommodations are 1850s homes, so you may feel a little more like a settler than a cowgirl or cowboy, but we promise you’ll be pleased. In addition to observing working ranch life, like cowboys riding and training horses, feeding livestock and treating animals, you can also observe pre-arranged demos of cool skills like roping, cattle drives, and more. Additional activities you won’t find in many other places include tomahawk throwing and skeet showing. This is cowboy life, Texas style.
