11 Winter Festivals You Should Experience at Least Once

Your little snow bunny doesn’t get the winter blues. Instead, he’s all about making the most of the season’s white-stuff bounty. We couldn’t agree more! That’s why we’ve rounded up the coolest winter fests the country has to offer so you can get your snow, sled, ski and polar plunge fixes in all season long. Flip through to find a winter wonderland celebration near you!

Fur Rendevous – Anchorage, Ak – Feb. 23 – March 4, 2018

Let’s get together in Alaska for one of the best snow shows in the country. When you visit Anchorage for the Fur Rondy, expect to watch the Snow Sculpture Competition in awe, and cheer on the racers in the World Championship Sled Dog Races (one of the country’s biggest and best). If wacky is what your tiny snow-lovers want, don’t miss the Running of the Reindeer (a slightly more mellow version of the Running of the Bulls), the Frostbite Footraces & Costume Fun Run and the Blanket Toss—an Alaskan tradition.

Travel Tip: Don’t forget to grab a Fur Rondy pin during your stay. They design a new one every year and are coveted by collectors.
