Before Casey became the owner of Ecocentric Mom—a subscription box service that delivers monthly boxes of natural and non-toxic products to moms and moms-to-be—she worked for an investment bank on Wall Street, and for new business ventures in the Philippines and Africa. She acquired Ecocentric Mom while looking for flexibility in her professional life, because as a mother (two-year-old Ellie, 10-week-old Zoe, and stepdaughter 13-year-old Alden), she knew she needed a way to find balance between her work and personal life. And she’s still figuring it all out. “These days I do it with a baby strapped to me or on my lap. I always feel torn between what I could or should be doing for the business and what I would like to be doing with the kids, but I also know that being fulfilled professionally makes me a happier, more balanced person and ultimately, a better mom.”
Casey’s work has paid off. One of her first initiatives was to join the One Percent For the Planet organization, which means that Ecocentric Mom donates one percent of its revenue to environmental related charities. For Casey, finding success in this business feels even better because as the company grows, the contributions to these organizations grow too!
