Whereas the 2006 nature film, Planet Earth, looked at the world on a larger scale; its successor, Life, examines the peculiar habits of its inhabitants. The 10-part series, produced by BBC, took four years to film and captured never-before-seen moments, including a Komodo dragon hunting a water buffalo and a high-def capture of flying fish leaping out of the water. Parents take note: The series doesn’t shy away from nature's harsh realities; viewers will see the food chain in all its glory, from a venus flytrap snapping up flies (in slow motion!) to a trio of cheetahs taking down an ostrich. There are also several scenes featuring animals doing the deed, so if you’re not yet ready to answer those pesky birds-and-bees questions, you might want to steer clear (or fast-forward).
