Top Notch Mommy & Me Classes for Babies, Toddlers & Preschoolers

One of the best things about being a parent in NYC is the dizzying number of options of all things kid-related. This is never more true than when it comes to “Mommy & Me” classes. Even if the idea of sitting around in a circle and singing with other parents and kids makes you cringe (you’re not alone, by the way), there is a class out there you will actually enjoy. (Your kid?: They’ll love it.) We’ve rounded up more than a dozen classes to take with your tot, from tummy time to sign language to all kinds of music to get you and the kid movin’ and groovin’. (Daddies are of course welcome, too.) Click on through to find your perfect match!

For Signing With a Massage Option: Baby Fingers

In Baby Fingers class, parents learn American Sign Language (ASL) through songs and play with other parents, educators, and children. Go home each week with new vocabulary and new tunes to enhance communication between you and your baby. Whether you hope to incorporate sign language into your life for many years, or simply during this pre-verbal/developing verbal time, you're in good "hands" under the guidance of Board Certified Music Therapist Lora Heller. Various sessions, from ASL for Infants to ASL for Kids and Adults, operate year-round.

Be in the Know: Heller is also an infant massage therapist, offers individual and special-needs music therapy, and hosts training workshops about ways to use signing and music in academic settings.

Location: Throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens; click here for schedule.

Cost: $25 - $32 per class week; 6, 8, 10, and 16 week sessions.
