The South Sound’s Top 15 Playgrounds

Best Playgrounds and Parks Seattle

Thanks to our record dry streak and long summer days, Seattle kids are loving the extra play time at their favorite parks. But if you’ve done the local playground circuit enough your smartphone thinks you work at the neighborhood tot lot, maybe it’s time to branch out into new territory. From medieval castles, to nautical play structures, to seaside swings and lakefront lunch spots, click through the gallery to see the best playgrounds the South Sound has to offer.

Pioneer Park – Puyallup

In you're in a hurry to get to the scone line at the Washington State Fair, you probably didn’t notice that in the heart of downtown Puyallup there's a park with slides so tall they could be a Midway ride. On the grounds of the public library this recently restructured playground offers both big and little kid structures with monkey bars, rock climbing, music making features and fun educational games for the kids to play.

Bonus: During the summer months there's a farmers market, music shows and family events, plus little tadpoles can splash around at the spraypark when the weather is warm. If schleppling along a picnic basket isn't on your to-do list, it's a quick walk to Trackside Pizza where kiddos love to feel the rumble of trains passing by while gorging on their pie, or grab some goodies at the Anthem coffee shop and Elements frozen yogurt - both are just a stone's throw away.
