What’s For Dinner? 7 Local Mom Food Blogs Your Family will Savor

It’s the fear many parents face every evening. You know that moment when you realize, despite all best intentions, you have no earthly idea what you will make for dinner. And right then is when the kiddos start in with their questions: “What’s for dinner?”, “Do we have to eat that again?” Before you open that blue box with the powdered cheese for the fourth night in a row, check out the delicious and delightful food blogs of these Seattle moms who face the same daily battles and questions from their own kiddos.

Aran Goyoaga

Aran Goyoaga is a relative newcomer to Seattle, but her blog, recipes and food photography are nothing new to the world of foodies.

Aran’s cookbook, Small Plates and Sweet Treats details the gluten-free lifestyle she and her two kiddos have adopted. Aran hails from the Basque Country of Spain and her early years revolved around food so it’s no wonder she followed a similar path. “My grandparents owned a pastry shop which was across the street from where I grew up, so there was always food being prepared and people talking about food. That upbringing has really shaped me. I was the oldest grandaughter and very close to my grandmother Miren. She always made sure I participated in cooking and that I tasted everything she would make."

For her own kiddos Aran relies on easy recipes of soups and stews loaded with chorizo, kale and vegetables. A childhood favorite, tortilla de patatas, can often be found on the dinner table. Here is the recipe for Potato, Parsnip and Watercress Tortilla.
