It’s the fear many parents face every evening. You know that moment when you realize, despite all best intentions, you have no earthly idea what you will make for dinner. And right then is when the kiddos start in with their questions: “What’s for dinner?”, “Do we have to eat that again?” Before you open that blue box with the powdered cheese for the fourth night in a row, check out the delicious and delightful food blogs of these Seattle moms who face the same daily battles and questions from their own kiddos.

Jill Sharpe

You might recognize Jill Sharpe of “The Lake Kitchen” from her cooking contributions to local newscasts as well as being a contestant on the Food Network’s show “Guy’s Grocery Games.” Jill was a winner, pocketing a few thousand bucks when she out-shopped and out-cooked her competitors.

Jill’s blog is named after her cooking school, “The Lake Kitchen” where she shares recipes, cooking tips and her travel and eating adventures. When it comes to feeding her tiny tots Jill says she stays on top of the dinner dilemma by cooking while her kiddos nap. Her go-to meals include Mustard Chicken and Potatoes or the divine sounding Ricotta Proscuitto with Pink Penne Pasta. Her goals are simple when it comes to healthy eating, “eating whole foods can be easy and yummy. Eating healthy to me isn’t 'fat-free' or 'sugar free.' It’s being smart using good fats and healthier sweeteners, coconut or avocado oils or pure maple syrup."

One recipe that is always a hit, Asian Marinated Flank Steak.
