Ever wondered what it would be like to drive a truck into Lake Union? This 90-min round-trip tour (1 hour on dry land, 30 mins in the brine) is a chance to learn lots of Seattle trivia in a rock-n-rolling way. The DUKW amphibious landing craft ("duck" for short) played an important part in World War II - now its job is to take you cruising around the sights of Seattle. Then, it’s time for splash down as your Duck plunges into Lake Union. Ride the Ducks is fun for all ages, even "ducklings" (tiny tots).
Take Notice: A ride on a Duck isn’t complete without a quacker - a quacking noisemaker in the shape of a duckbill. Add a quacker to your ticket for $2.50 and quack your way through the tour.
Good to Know: A seat must be reserved for everyone in your crew, 3 months to 103 years old. Car seats are not necessary but small baby carriers are OK. Strollers are not allowed on board, but can be stored in the Ride the Ducks building when you depart from the Seattle Center. There is no storage available at Westlake Center.
ADA: Due to their World War II vintage, the Ducks are not ADA accessible. All guests must board and de-board via eight steps on the back of the Duck. There are handrails and Duck captains are happy to allow for additional boarding time. Walkers and wheelchairs can be stored in the Ride the Ducks building when you depart from the Seattle Center location.
Ride The Ducks has two departure locations: Seattle Center and Westlake Center. Both tours share the same tour route, but start at different locations.
