A Night Out At Old Town

Go back in time to Old Town and you'll be able to have a spot of dinner mixed with a side of history. The Old Town San Diego State Historic Park is right on the spot the first Spanish settled on west coast. Today they celebrate that with a mix of museums, colorful shops, restaurants and early-California buildings so your visitors will be able to get a taste of San Diego as it use to be during the 1800s. The choices are endless when it comes to delicious Mexican cuisine from more than 20 cantinas dotted around the park. Cafe Coyote is one of Old Town's most popular dinner options. It has a great atmosphere, live mariachi bands and some of the best chicken and fish enchiladas to make for a great night.

Fun Facts to Tell Your Guests:

  • Watch out for the old Whaley House Museum on San Diego Avenue with its numerous ghost sightings
  • San Diego's first public school house, the Mason Street School, was established in Old Town (and can still be viewed today)
