Trader Joe’s has announced a recall of two of its cookie brands
Trader Joe’s has announced that it’s recalling two flavors of cookies after a supplier alerted the grocery chain that they could contain rocks, according to a press release posted on the store’s website.
“Please do not eat them,” Trader Joe’s wrote on its website. “All potentially affected product(s) [have] been removed from sale and destroyed.”
The affected cookies include Almond Windmill Cookies (SKU# 98744) with sell-by dates between Oct. 19, 2023 and Oct. 21, 2023, and the Dark Chocolate Chunk and Almond Cookies (SKU# 82752) with sell-by dates between Oct. 17, 2023 and Oct. 21, 2023. If you’ve purchased any recently, TJ’s is requesting that you toss them, or return them to the store for a full refund.
The press release didn’t contain any information about how the cookies might have become contaminated with rocks, the size or type of rocks, or whether any consumers have eaten any rocks to date. We also don’t know if anyone has been injured from eating cookies with rocks in them.
Customers with any questions about the recall can contact Trader Joe’s by calling (626) 599-3817 (Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Pacific Time) or by emailing the company via an online contact form.
