13 Free (or Really Cheap) Things to Do in Griffith Park

Fun fact: Griffith Park is over 5 times bigger than NY’s Central Park. With hikes, zoos, museums, beer (!), trains, playgrounds, ponies, golf, a carousel and lots more (all costing very little or nothing at all) it’s time to click through the slideshow and discover a baker’s dozen of the coolest places you just might not have visited in our gigantic urban forest.

Giddy-Up, Little Cowpokes

We’re in the Wild West, and that means cowboy country. First step to being a cowboy or cowgirl is riding a horse, and kids as young as 1 can choose from a variety of different rides at the Griffith Park Pony Rides. From a gentle pony sweep where you ride in a circle, slow ponies with an easy walking pace, medium ponies with a trot to big ponies that do more of a fast jog, there’s something for everyone. All rides are just $5 (cash only) and are available every day but Monday from 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
