6 Scenic Places to Park for Nap Time

One minute you’re belting out Elmo tunes in a duet with your tot and then suddenly you’re performing a solo: welcome to the car nappers club. The next time your kiddo sacks out mid-errand, don’t rush home and unbuckle (we mean wake) them. Cathedral Park

This rolling-hills park offers river views from underneath the St. Johns Bridge, the structure which, in and of itself, offers a stunning view. After spending the morning at the drop-in indoor park sessions at the St. Johns Community Center (8427 N Central), Tues.- Fri. 9:30-11:30 a.m., $1, kids under five, grab a snack at Girasole Restaurant (8449 N Lombard St.) , then drive to this nearby park and take in the views while the kiddo saws logs.
