Hidden Parks & Gardens of the Peninsula

You spent summer splashing around Stafford Park, picnicked and played at Washington Park, and ventured to the Junior Museum & Zoo at Rinconada Park. Now what? Time to check out the Peninsula’s hidden gems. They may be just around the corner from your house or a few short miles from your family’s favorite hood. Either way, these (formerly) secret spots are worth exploring!

Lomita Park. San Bruno

Why it’s great: The small fish in a big pond, Lomita Park is a quaint neighborhood playground, picnic and grass area in a city renowned for it’s expansive multi-acred hidden outdoor oases.

Where: 500 San Anselmo Ave.

Good to know: While there’s tons of street parking, there isn’t a fenced area around the playground so you’ll have to keep a close eye on your kiddos.
