H2Oh! 7 Easy Science Experiments That Use Water

As soon as kids can reach a faucet, it seems they are drawn to splashing around in the water—much to the chagrin of your kitchen floor. Turn your little bit’s intrigue into intellect with these simple water-based science experiments for kids that you can do at home

.

Egg Float

What you need: one cup of plain water, one cup of salt water, one raw egg.

How to: Drop the egg in the plain water and watch how it sinks to the bottom of the glass. Then, drop the egg into the salt water and watch how it floats. Let kiddo wax on why he thinks the egg sank or floated.

How it works: This is a cool lesson on density. When things are less dense than the water they sink. If the water is denser they float.
