Tom Douglas
A local with an international reputation for launching wildly popular restaurants that turn a profit, Tom Douglas might be best known as the man behind the coconut cream pie adored by kids--and President Obama. Douglas oversees hundreds of employees powering more than a dozen restaurants in downtown Seattle and South Lake Union, including a pair opening in the Via 6 building later this month. Winner of the 2012 James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Restaurateur, the Ballard resident named one of his eateries after his daughter, Etta.
Seattle is brimming with cool dads. Who else should we add to our list?
