With the new Disney adaptation opening in theaters, the reviews for Aladdin are rolling in––but they’re not all positive. One four-year-old had some very strong and adorably honest opinions about the new film.

Four-year-old Madison Jade thinks the damsel in distress story is a tired trope so she took to social media to give her review on the new Aladdin. In the video posted on Instagram, Madison explains, “Jasmine needs to go see the world by herself because you don’t need a boy to take you to see the whole world!” Wise words from this young preschooler.

Madison’s mom prompts her to explain her Aladdin theory asking, “Sometimes when we read your princess books, the prince will take the princess on an adventure, or he’ll save the day or he’ll rescue her, that’s a good thing, right?”

Her response is absolutely perfect, “Mommy… the princess doesn’t need a prince to rescue her, she can rescue herself.”

The post garnered thousands of likes with followers young and old giving her praise for her empowering words.
