As parents, we evolve. And as Pink recently shared in an interview with Parents, her family bedtime routine has evolved from Sumo wrestling to plenty of warnings, plus a soft landing with soothing sleep stories on the meditation and wellness app Calm.
Pink’s kids—daughter Willow, 10, and son Jameson, 5, who she shares with husband Carey Hart—are like most. They need to know what’s about to go down, and when. We can relate. Nobody likes the rug pulled out from under them, right?
In an interview with Parents, Pink shared that she has to give her kids “Many warnings. ‘It’s coming! Its coming closer! It’s almost here! OK, people, for real now…’” She told TODAY that “Calling it (bedtime) out of the blue, or letting them get too tired… Then it’s just tears.”
The family caps off its bedtime routine by listening to sleep stories on the meditation and wellness app Calm, for which the singer is now recording stories. Listening to the sleep stories on Calm helps her kids “to not be as afraid of the dark, or to be alone.” We wonder if they listen to Pink’s recordings, or if they opt for other readers?
Deviating from their routine means trouble for the morning (sound familiar?), when getting the three ready and out the door for school is already “a test of patience.”

“I have never seen two people move slower, or need to be asked to do exactly what they did yesterday, just again,” Pink said, “and they’re surprised every time.” Preach, Pink. We’re right there with you.
But—as in most families—there are moments of pure joy in the midst of all the wrangling. For Pink, dinner is her favorite time of the day with her family. “We say our highs and lows of the day, how school went, what we were up to, and what we are grateful for,” Pink said. “Gratitude is a big one.”
