Ted Lasso’s beloved curse-word loving character is hitting the streets. Sesame Street, that is.
As it gears up for season 53, we are all chomping at the bit to see how Brett Goldstein and our favorite puppets get along on the classic show. We already know the grump will meet his match when he pairs up with Oscar the Grouch, and now it looks like he’s sharing a lesson on the f-word: fairness.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Goldstein will star in the show’s “Word of the Day” series alongside Tamir. When it’s time for the word of the day, which begins with a letter “F,” Goldstein can’t help but comment. “Oooh, I love the letter F.”
Not THAT f-word––this is a children’s show! No, the word is, in fact, “fairness” and Goldstein explains it’s when “each of us gets what we need.” Right on time, Cookie Monster appears asking for a cookie. “It’s fair when we share,” everyone agrees.
The trio chats more ways to be fair with friends, before cleaning up. Cookie Monster demonstrates another way to show fairness by “doing your part and helping others.” And of course, it wouldn’t be an episode with Brett Goldstein without a little Ted Lasso-eque soccer references!
When Cookie Monster tries to usurp the role of soccer captain, Goldstein makes him perform some footwork to see if he’s up to the challenge.

Admittedly, Cookie’s got some moves so Goldstein relinquishes his role. Tune in to HBO Max this year when the entire 53rd season of Sesame Street drops on the streaming provider.
If you’re not a Ted Lasso fan, it’s the perfect time to get caught up on the first two seasons. The show has taken home Screen Actors Guild Awards, Critics Choice Awards, Golden Globes and Emmy’s. It’s the perfect kids-are-in-bed show that will finally get you in-the-know on all things Roy Kent.
