In Glamour UK’s April cover story, Megan Fox opens up about a variety of topics, including parenting her three boys. The 35-year-old actress shares Journey River, 5, Bodhi Ransom, 8, and Noah Shannon, 9, with ex-husband Brian Austin Green and has been pretty private about sharing their personal lives.

In a 16-minute Glamour Unfiltered video released this week, Fox dives into her relationship with Machine Gun Kelly (yes, the blood drinking), the #MeToo movement, and addressing the topics of gender identity with her children. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire video, but if you want to skip straight to the parenting discussion, you can start at 11:45.

Fox shares that Noah started wearing dresses around the age of two, at which point she “bought a bunch of books that sort of address these things… Some of the books are written by transgender children. Some of the books are just about how you can be a boy and wear a dress; you can express yourself through your clothing however you want. And that doesn’t even have to have anything to do with your sexuality.”

Acknowledging that she can’t control how other children respond to her children and their choices, Fox does what she can by keeping them [her kids] mostly off of social media. Despite the avoidance of online scrutiny, her boys still face criticism at school.

In a July 2017 interview with InStyle, the publication noted, “When it comes to her “babies,” all that matters is protecting them, especially her oldest, 8-year-old Noah, who has been subject to ‘mean, awful people and cruel people,’ online.”

Despite splitting back in 2019, Fox and Green support their sons unconditionally. In a 2017 interview with Hollywood Pipeline, Green shared, “I’ve heard from some people that they don’t agree with [Noah] wearing dresses. To them I say, ‘I don’t care.’ He’s 4, and if he wants to wear it, then he wears it. Dresses or goggles or slippers or whatever. It’s his life. They’re not my clothes. … I feel like at 4 or 5, that’s a time when he should be having fun. He’s not harming anyone wearing a dress. So if he wants to wear a dress, awesome! Good on him.”

Glamour UK wraps up the parenthood segment of their interview with Megan’s final thoughts. “I know I can’t protect them forever… my child is so brave and I know that they’ve chosen this journey for a reason. It’s just hard as a mom.”
