Move over influencers, there’s a new TikToker in town: Sesame Street!
The beloved children’s brand officially hit the platform yesterday with a hilarious video captioned, “Yip, you read that right. #SesameStreet is on TikTok! 🎉” And of course, their first video featured everyone’s favorite martians, the Yip Yaps.
In a format typical for the duo, the video consists of the tentacled martians going back and forth saying “Tik” and “Tok” and frankly, its the wholesome content we want right now.

Given that TikTok is geared towards an older audience (as opposed to the preschoolers who typically watch the show), it’s no surprise that millennials are chiming in with excitement for Sesame Street’s new account. Comments like “this is the best day of my life” and “You just made soooo many 40-somethings extremely happy” were a-plenty.
But the gang isn’t just settling for one measly video––they’ve already dropped another! Bert is getting in on the action sharing his thoughts on riding his bike.
“When I’m out there on the open bike path, feeling the wind in my eyebrow, I feel so free!” he says. We’re not quite sure what to think about that psychedelic zoom in at the end.
@sesamestreet Fly high Bert, fly high. #Bert #eyebrows #SesameStreet

Somehow, in typical Sesame Street glory, the videos are marrying the joys of our childhood with humor that we can get behind. Joining TikTok is just another way that the brand is continuing to stay relevant to new generations.
Over the past several seasons, Sesame Street has welcomed Brett Goldstein to learn about the “f” word (fair, of course), launched a new podcast, released materials to help kids deal with trauma, debuted a new character who uses a wheelchair, and so much more.
Now the only issue? Trying to hide and watch Sesame Street TikTok videos without our preschoolers trying to get in on the action.
