If you’ve not yet watched Loot on Apple TV+, you may want to add it to your list. The series just launched on June 24, but it’s already been renewed for a second season. It’s easy to see why the workplace comedy has been so popular—it stars and is executive produced by Maya Rudolph, and has a cast and writers worthy of the acclaim.
The series from Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard (who previously worked with Rudolph on Amazon’s Forever) also includes cast members Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Joel Kim Booster, Nat Faxon, Ron Funches, and Stephanie Styles, and each actor brings just the right humor, compassion, and snark to the show. The fact that it’s already been renewed after just weeks of its launch speaks to just how well everyone gels together.
It will take more than 10 episodes to save the world.

“Thanks to Maya, Alan, Matt, and the entire incredibly talented Loot cast and creative team who have created a show filled with captivating and endearing characters, and hilarious and heartwarming moments throughout each episode,” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+. “This show has captured the hearts of global audiences, and we can’t wait for season two.”
If you’ve not yet seen Loot, here’s a little backstory. Rudolph plays billionaire Molly Novak, who lives a Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous existence complete with private jets, a mansion, a gigayacht, and all of the clothes and jewelry a woman would desire. Unfortunately, she also has a husband of 20 years who betrays her, and she spirals out of control for all the world to witness.
Luckily for Novak, she finds out she owns a charity foundation run by Sofia Salinas (Rodriguez) who begs her to stop giving the press more ammunition to be the butt of everyone’s jokes. With Salinas, her trusty assistant Nicholas (Booster), and those on the charity’s team, including accountant Arthur (Faxon), and cousin Howard (Funches), Novak finds what she’s been looking for all along—herself.
The first five episodes of Loot are all available on Apple TV+ for you to binge and get caught up, and new episodes of the first season premieres every Friday. Make sure to mark your calendars because we have a feeling once you start, you won’t be able to stop watching.
