It’s an unexpected place to experience the arts, but a pleasant surprise. Duwamish Revealed is a series of events showcasing Seattle’s only river, and Tangyo is a performance you do not want to miss. Happening on Saturday, August 8, Tangyo brings Seattle aerialist Tanya Brno to the river’s shores to perform a stunning piece against a beautiful backdrop and live music. The whole evening kicks off with a twilight performance by the Riverside People’s Chorus. And, you can join in, too – rehearsals start at 2! This summer, it also gets to show off its quaint downtown, with its unique shops and eateries, as well as Whitman College, when Mumford and Sons brings their Gentlemen of the Road tour to the town on August 14-15. Otherwise known as, the Walla Walla Stopover Festival. But, this isn’t your usual, garden-variety, live music show. Nope. There will be local music acts in the town, Thursday through Saturday, along with a show with a wide variety of artists on Friday night, and then the Foo Fighters and Mumford and Sons on Saturday night! Come and camp, stay at local lodging and check out a winery or two. No matter what, you’ll have a weekend full of fun! Outdoor Music Festival. Once again, the fest has put down roots at Told-MacDonald Park, and promises three days of great music, frivolity and serious outdoor fun. Folks can look forward to acts such as the Dead Milkmen, La Luz, Tacocat, David Bazan and a whole lot more. But truly, the music is just the cherry on top of a huge ice cream sundae. In addition to the remarkable music, attendees can take part in a plethora of other activities, including: kayaking, hiking, meditation, a comedy show, paddle boarding, swimming, camping and a whole bunch of other cool stuff! Kids can get in on the fun too, with a kids camp each day from 9AM-Noon that includes a kids concert, arts and crafts and other seriously silly activities.
