A Northwest native, Allison was born and raised in Bellevue, Wa, and has lived throughout the Puget Sound area and up and down the West Coast (Kirkland, Bainbridge Island, Vashon Island, Los Angeles) before settling permanently in Seattle. A longtime children's media executive, Allison now owns a consulting business and writes for a number of online and offline publications, including Redbook, Working Mother and Seattle Weekly.
