It’s the Peppa Pig revenge we’ve all been waiting for

Remember back in 2019, when American kids were mysteriously speaking in British accents, and we finally figured out it was their collective obsession with watching Peppa Pig that was to blame? Well, we’re getting some adorable revenge on the Brits for that one. A British mom just shared a video of her toddler daughter’s American accent, and you’re going to cackle when you hear the cause.

Mom Kelly Convey shared the video to TikTok, where she asked, “Has anybody else got a British—and I have to stress, British—toddler, who watches Miss Rachel, and as they’ve started to speak, you realize that they’ve actually got an American accent?”

Sure enough, Convey’s video then cuts to a shot of her daughter. She asks her to demonstrate saying a few words—car, more, ears, zebra—and that kid is all hard “R’s.” She sounds as American as apple pie. We just pulled a reverse Uno card on Peppa Pig, and it’s all thanks to Miss Rachel.

In the comments, people seem to think it’s pretty normal for young kids to just soak up the accents of whatever content they love.

“My American kids have an Aussie accent after watching Bluey 😅,” one mom wrote. Another added, “My 5-year-old twins speak fluent Bluey and Peppa 😂”

Luckily, another mom in the comments showed up with the cure for Convey’s daughter.

“Please administer two cups of tea every day for four weeks,” she wrote. “Hopefully that will fix the issue.”
