The onslaught of Baby Yoda gear has begun and if you’re hoping to bring home a big-eared, green, frog-eating Yoda of your own, you’re in luck. Build-A-Bear Workshop has just announced a Baby Yoda plush. Build-A-Bear Workshop did not immediately respond to Red Tricycle’s request for comment.
According to Business Insider, Build-A-Bear CEO Sharon Price John revealed that the company is planning to roll out a new plush based on the popular character The Child from the hit Disney+ series, The Mandalorian.
“I’m excited to share we will be one of the first companies to provide the digital and internet phenomenon who is trending higher than all the presidential candidates combined,” John said during a presentation at the ICR Conference in Orlando, Florida Business Insider reports. She added, “We now will have The Child, also known as Baby Yoda.”
A representative for Build-A-Bear Workshop confirmed to Red Tricycle that it will launch The Child, otherwise known as “Baby Yoda,” in spring 2020 in-stores and online. More details will be forthcoming and Build-A-Bear is encouraging fans to sign up for its Bonus Club to be among the first to get more information.
No word yet on the cost of the new plush, but it won’t be the only one on the market. Several other products have already been announced, like Hasbro’s The Child Talking Plush. By the time The Mandalorian debuts its second season later this year, there’s sure to be plenty of Baby Yoda toys to choose from.
