Playing on the beach? Been there, snapped that. Monkeying around at the playground? Yep, took that pic a billion times. If you need fresh photo ideas — and some new fodder for your Instagram feed — get a change of scenery and check out Chicago’s awesome street art. We think outdoor murals are the new photo studios and, whether you hire a pro or do the snapping yourself, you’ll love the color and urban edge. JC Rivera Mural – Nettelhorst School – Lakeview

Lakeview painter Jeremiah Ketner has two sons at Nettelhorst School. He enlisted international street artists JC Rivera and Chema Skandal who together made three new murals at the school. We especially love Rivera's; he painted his well-known "Bear Champ" character, a huge bear wearing boxing gloves (find it near Nettelhorst's back entrance).

Located at 3252 N. Broadway St. in Lakeview.
