Chris Pratt is known for his roles in Parks and Rec, the Jurassic World movies, Guardians of the Galaxy series, and The Terminal List, which he’s been pumping iron for in recent months while on set. He was trying to show off his progress in a recent Instagram post but all the internet could see in the photo was a sweet note from his nine-year-old son, Jack.

“Lookin cut,” Pratt captioned in his half-naked mirror selfie, complete with tight jeans and a fake cut from his work on the film. But it was the little yellow Post-it note that caught everyone’s attention because it was oh-so adorable. “See you at 800 ish. Jack,” the note read, complete with a little heart next to his name. So much for the father-of-three’s attempt at the swoon.

Pratt shares Jack with ex-wife Anna Faris. He also has two daughters with wife Katherine Schwarzenegger, Lyla, one, and Eloise, one month.

Pratt has shared pics of Jack in the past like this one from a fishing trip. “Not sure what made me more proud: when Jack insisted on holding this barracuda himself, or when he tried it raw!” he wrote in part next to the adorable photo.

While we love the note (and fine, his abs, too), the actor wasn’t always a fan-favorite after he thanked his now-wife for giving him a “gorgeous, healthy daughter,” which many took as insulting to Faris and Jack, who spent time in the NICU as a preemie and has suffered from some health issues as a child.

I said something like, “‘Find someone who looks at you the way my wife looks at me.’ And then I gave her some shit in the thing and said, ‘But I love you. I’m so thankful for my wife—she gave me a beautiful, healthy daughter,'” Pratt told Men’s Health. “And then a bunch of articles came out and said, ‘That’s so cringeworthy. I can’t believe Chris Pratt would thank her for a healthy daughter when his first child was born premature. That’s such a dig at his ex-wife.’ And I’m like, That is f*cked up. My son’s gonna read that one day. He’s nine. And it’s etched in digital stone. It really f*cking bothered me, dude. I cried about it. I was like, I hate that these blessings in my life are—to the people close to me—a real burden.”

It’s got to be difficult to put yourself out there and have everything you say or do scrutinized. In the case of his latest photo though, the only negative is that there weren’t more notes from Jack.
