When you think of food and wine, your kids may not factor into the picture. But just like everything the company does, the 2022 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival is as family-friendly as they come.

Running from Mar. 4-Apr. 26 this year, there are plenty of places to dig into California-inspired cuisine and beverages, not to mention interactive experiences for kids. We had the chance to hit up the event on opening day, and here are all the reasons you should definitely make this a box on your family bucket list.

Sip & Savor Pass

Karly Wood

A steal at $57 (or $52 for Magic Key holders), the Sip & Savor Pass gives you access to 12 Festival Marketplaces plus select items at regular eateries packed with creative and delicious food and non-alcoholic drink options. Each one comes with eight tabs (don't pull them off until you "pay!") that is redeemable at the locations listed on the pass- no extra payment required. With most items at Disney costing easily $10+ each, you are saving quite a bit by using the pass, not to mention getting to try tons of new items you might otherwise pass on.

There are plenty of kid-friendly choices and if you're stuck trying to find the all, the free Tasting Passport will give you the breakdown.

Brand New Shows

Karly Wood

Disney Jr.'s new show, Alice's Wonderland Bakery, comes alive in a brand new experience in the Hollywood Backlot. Not only will viewers be treated to a whimsical host in Rolly Pin, but see guest appearances by Minnie Mouse, Alice and Rosa. Alice's Wonderland Bakery Unbirthday Party puts cupcakes in the hands of kids ages three to 11, where they can decorate and wear chef's hats in front of a live audience. Parents will want to line up 45 minutes before showtime to snag one of the 30 available spots.

The Jammin' Chefs have also returned, but with a brand new soundtrack and costumes! Gather at the edge of the Hollywood Backlot in front of Hyperion Theater to get a drum show involving kitchen pots and pans––not to mention Chip & Dale!

Special Bookable Experiences

Karly Wood

While you'll definitely have an amazing day at the festival without a lot of pre-planning, a few minutes spent checking out the special receptions and seminars can kick your visit up a notch. Choose from two winemaker receptions at Carthay Circle ($140 per person) that incorporate small plates and hand-selected California wines and tons of sommelier, mixology, wine and beer seminars ($25 per person). Note that these special events are for guests 21 and older only.

Soarin' Over California Is Back

Karly Wood

OG park goers will fondly remember Soarin' Over California, which was eventually replaced by Soarin' Around the World. While we love the attraction now, we are more than excited the original version is back for the Food & Wine Festival. Once again, you can take in the sights and smells (i.e. all those fresh oranges) that make California unique.

Sound amazing? Be sure to book your reservation before the festival ends on Apr. 26.
