Discover the joy, insight, and wonder of Shakespeare!

This year Marin Shakespeare Company will be offering both in-person and virtual summer camps. Campers will explore creativity and imagination, practice teamwork, and build intellectual curiosity — all while enjoying physical games and activities led by skilled and caring teaching artists. Each camp culminates in a performance of an abbreviated Shakespeare play.

Here’s what a few of last year’s campers had to say about their experience with Shakespeare Summer Camps:

“It’s really fun acting!” – Gilbert, age 10

“I like the games and acting and we get to meet new friends” Lisa, age 8

“We act and make friends, and I was really interested in Shakespeare.” –  Laila, age 8

“I like camp because our teachers make us laugh!” Elizabeth, age 8

At KoKo NYC we value the process of making. KoKo seeks to educate kids and adults alike about our impact on our environment. Our arts-based science and engineering programs are meant to empower kids of all walks of life and we’re interested in pushing kids to be able to act more responsibly towards their peers and their environment. We encourage them to take risks and believe in their own ability to make a difference. But the most important part is the approach: KoKo means having fun!

The Soap Box Workshop (7-14 years) and Mini Destroy&Construct (5-7 years) encourages children to think outside the box. Children build inventions with found and recycled objects as well as building materials. At the Soupbox site participants turn piles of seemingly useless trash into functional machines while learning about construction and design and, more importantly, having fun.

All our programs are Maker Mentor Programs, but leading up to the summer we are introducing KoKo NYC’s outdoor afterschool classes in the parks.  We have a special offer for Red Tricicle subscribers until March 21. Use RT Maker Mentor at checkout for 10%. If you’d like to bring KoKo to your neighborhood, please reach out to us at info@kokonyc.org!

Elevated Sportz combines the gravity-defying fun of a trampoline center with the enchantment of an indoor playground in one all-encompassing entertainment arena for all ages.

Inside the two-sectioned play center, bouncers can hurtle into the air, play games of dodgeball, or flip into a foam pit on wall-to-wall trampolines equipped with protective pads. In addition, guests can test their skills on the Ninja Course and battle beam, or pretend to be a secret agent as they dodge light beams in the laser maze.

On the other side of the building, a multi-tiered play castle with tunnels, bridges, racing slides, and a ball pit entices younger visitors to release pent-up energy or practice stealth maneuvers for upcoming cookie-jar raids. Guests who need to catch their breath can take a break from reality on the VR machine or play on other action-arcade games, or relax in the cafe with espresso, fresh-made salads and pizza, and snacks while surfing free WiFi.

We also have updated our procedures and materials to make sure everyone is extra safe during this pandemic.
