Culinary Artistas is a place where fun and knowledge meet in the kitchen! Our camps inspire and empower kids to have a hands-on relationship with food and start to speak its universal language.

A day in our camp will focus mainly on the culinary projects: kids make lunch, morning and afternoon snacks and enjoy the food made with their own hands! We strive to bring hands-on exploration to the table, so even the pickiest eaters can find something to have fun with. Between cooking activities, we facilitate conversations and reflections, draw, read and play games.

Our Ghirardelli Square studio is located across the street from Aquatic Park and, weather permitting, we explore and play at the beach almost daily. This year we are again offering camps at our partner, Tinker Kitchen, a beautiful maker-space for food hackers in the Mission District. These camps are crafted for older kids (7-11yo) and offer the opportunity to play with great gadgets that Tinker has to offer! After care is available on specific weeks at both locations.

With more than 60 different camp offerings with activities from hiking to archery, to art, or searching for wildlife, there’s a place for every camper to find their passion!

All of our camps combine science, games, and creative play with meaningful, lasting connections with nature. Our holistic, student-directed approach allows learning to unfold from the student’s personal passions and interests in the natural world. Campers are invited to express themselves individually through art, poetry, skits, and conservation action, and we give children opportunities to master the skills and crafts that build competence and self-reliance in the outdoors. Each camp, led by expert educators, helps kids bring their authentic selves to learning, playing, and making friends. Together, we create a culture of care and respect for each other and nature through teamwork and big belly laughs.

*As part of our commitment to support working families, we’re launching Audubon Aftercare for the first time this summer. Campers can continue their camp day at Portland Audubon with even more nature play! Aftercare is available for grades 1-5 only all summer long. Pre-registration for Audubon Aftercare is required.
