The theater is showing the 20th anniversary edition of the films

Calling all Potterheads! If you’re already looking ahead to the weekend and wondering what you’ll be doing, look no more. Regal Cinemas has announced it is bringing back the entire eight-film Harry Potter series!

Not only can you spend the weekend catching up with Harry, Hermione, and Ron, you can do it for just $5 per movie. The return of the films starts this Fri., Sept. 23 and runs through the following Thur., Sept. 29.

The movies are being released in chronological order in theaters. So, for example, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone is the first to debut on Fri., Sept. 23., followed by Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Come Sat., Sept. 24, you can buy tickets for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. And finally, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Part 2 will drop in theaters on Sun., Sept. 25.

You’ll also have multiple days to watch each film, as they will repeat throughout the weekend and following week up until Thur. Sept. 29. Be sure to check regmovies.com to see when and where the franchise will be playing in your local area.

While the return of the Harry Potter films is definitely a crowd pleaser, it’s likely a move to boost theater sales in the midst of a years-long decline. Within the past few months, moviegoers have seen $3 tickets as part of National Cinema Day, plus the return of award-winning films like E.T., Jaws, and Avatar as a means to encourage them to head to the theaters instead of streaming.

When it comes to Harry Potter, we’re just happy to see the gang back together again on the big screen. Just take our galleons already.
