Little adrenaline-seekers will be happy to know there’s a new-and-improved place for them at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, Calif., now that the theme park has officially opened its newly reimagined “Camp Snoopy” with a new family roller coaster that’s a perfect first “big kid” ride.

Knott’s Berry Farm

While older kids may want to head to Knott’s Berry Farm’s more grown-up thrills like Ghostrider and Silver Bullet, younger kids will have plenty to keep them zipping, chugging, and swinging the day away. In all, the 6-acre Camp Snoopy has 12 rides for littles (almost all of them are suitable for toddlers), including tiny airplanes they can control, twirling trucks they can bounce, a whirling boat to dizzy them, and a tiny swing ride that lets them feel the wind on their faces. Other family-friendly rides scattered throughout park include the iconic Calico Railroad and the adorable (and sweet-scented!) Knott’s Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair.

What’s New:

Central to the new Camp Snoopy is Snoopy’s Tenderpaw Twister, a new roller coaster that takes riders up a small hill, then delivers a pint-sized launch before looping around a few wide turns and coming back to the start and doing it all over again. Parents and kids can ride it together, making it a perfect first coaster experience for kids brave enough to handle the (very mild) speed quotient. Note: Guests must be 42″ tall to ride alone OR 36″ tall to go with a parent or older companion.

Other reimagined rides include Camp Snoopy’s Off-Road Rally, which has been expanded with a new track and terrain. Mini drivers can hop into a Peanuts-themed four-wheel jeep and tackle twisty roads where kids should be on the lookout for funny road signs, obstacles, and course checkpoints.

The newly themed Beagle Express takes riders on a scenic train ride, crossing over a covered bridge and chugging around the land to see the beloved Peanuts gang in action. Sally’s Swing Along is a subtle tweak of the existing kids’ rocker, a pendulum that sweeps gaggles of kids 10 feet up toward the sky like they’re riding a giant playground swing.

When you want to take a break, let the kids run around Beagle Scout Acres, a large green space where kids can have a snack or a picnic, summer camp-style, on the shaded tables. The area will host a variety of activities throughout the day, including sing-a-longs around the campfire pit.

Camp Snoopy is included in regular Knott’s Berry Farm admission. For more information, go to www.Knotts.com.
