It’s hard to believe, what with that lobster thermidor diet, but Batman turns 80 years old this year! What better way to celebrate than with an epic LEGO Batcave building set that clocks in at over 1,000 pieces.
The brand-new mega LEGO set—called the Batcave Clayface Invasion—features 1,037 pieces and comes loaded with LEGO Batman Minifigures, including Clayface, Two-Face, Catwoman, Robin, Batwoman and off course Batman, which transforms between the masked hero and his millionaire playboy alter ego, Bruce Wayne.
The Batcave set itself features several different rooms including a Batcomputer zone, hi-tech zone, workout zone, weapons room, trophy room, transformation tower, jail modules and a Bat-Tank.
Besides this incredible set, LEGO also revealed several smaller Batman sets in honor of the special anniversary. These sets include a 200-piece Mr. Freeze Batcycle Battle ($20), a 342-piece Batmobile ($30), a 489-piece Batwing and The Riddler Heist set ($50), a 59-piece Batman vs. The Riddler Robbery set ($10) and a 171-piece Batman and the Joker Escape set ($40).
The Batcave Clayface Invasion will sell for $100. All of the sets will be available in stores and online beginning Aug. 1. The Mr. Freeze Batcycle Battle, however, will release early as a Walmart exclusive on Jul. 1.
Looks like it’s going to be a bat-filled summer for your young master builders!
