It’s time to play the music. It’s time to light the lights––LEGO Muppets are almost here! The brick maker is getting ready to launch LEGO Minifigures The Muppets coming up on May 1, a new line of collectibles that is a must for fans.
To make it even more fun, the collection will be sold entirely in blind bags! You’ll be able to choose from individual minifigures for $5 each or go big with a six-pack for $30. The exclusive Disney’s The Muppets figures include all of your favorite characters like Animal, Beaker, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Janice, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Rowlf the Dog, Statler, The Swedish Chef and Waldorf.
The lineup is special limited-edition and also comes with a collector’s leaflet. Did we mention accessories?
Each minifig has to have an iconic coordinating piece like a headshot for Miss Piggy, a banjo for Kermit, a banana and mike stand for Fozzie and a chicken (hello, Camilla!) for Gonzo. You’ll also get music accessories with Rowlf and Animal, science pieces with Bunsen and Beaker, a guitar with Janice, an apple and whisk with the Swedish Chef and finally, a computer and coffee cup with Statler and Waldorf.
The Muppets were created by Jim Henson in 1955 and he shares the name came from combining the words “puppet” and “marionette.” While the cast of characters was originally geared towards adult comedy, Henson’s work with Sesame Street launched the puppets into the world of children’s entertainment in 1969. After The Muppet Show ended it’s five-year run, it was on to Fraggle Rock, which sealed the world’s love of the fuzzy characters into our hearts forever.
