In a statement on Wed., Mar. 31, Merlin Entertainments and LEGOLAND Resorts announced that the new resort in New York will be postponing its grand opening until sometime in 2021. The theme park was originally slated to open this summer, on Jul. 4.
New York Divisional Director Stephanie Johnson stated, “We are grateful for the support and understanding from our guests and neighbors as we navigate the challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic. We look forward to building unforgettable memories with our guests and their families when we open in 2021.”

All annual passes or single-day tickets that have already been purchased will be honored when the park opens in 2021. Anyone who has booked a vacation package through LEGOLAND Vacations will have the first opportunity to book for the 2021 season as soon as it becomes available.
The resort still pans to hire over 1,000 employees, and all employees who were already offered employment still have standing offers for 2021.
Guests can find all the up-to-date info by visiting the LEGOLAND New York website.
