Have you ever wondered what you’d look like as a LEGO minifigure? Now you can! LEGOLAND New York recently announced the addition of the LEGO Factory Adventure ride to its opening line-up for summer 2020—and it uses state of the art tech to turn you into a mini-me figure.
LEGOLAND debuted plans for the ride recently at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions annual expo in Orlando. Reportedly, the attraction will use on-ride tracking technology to identify riders’ features and turn them into on-screen minifigure representations.
According to USAToday, Julie Estrada, the head of public relations for Merlin Entertainments, the park’s developer, said in a statement, “Imagine traveling through a Lego factory and suddenly seeing yourself as a LEGO Minifigure.” Estra added, “We looked to two of the world’s leading developers, Holovis and ETF Ride Systems, to create this first of its kind dark ride experience. I can’t wait to see the looks on our guests’ faces when they experience it.”
The narrative-led ride will take park guests on a magical journey through the LEGO Factory with Professor Brick. After meeting other LEGO characters along the way, riders will end up face-to-face with one very familiar face—they’re own, in a minifigure style!
LEGOLAND New York opens on Jul. 4, 2020. Visit the park’s website here for more information on attractions, prices and everything else you need to know to make your summer vaycay plans.
