Mandy Moore is having a moment. Not only did she just close the chapter on the Emmy-winning show This Is Us, where she played Rebecca Pearson for six seasons, she’s about to take on an even more exciting challenge as a mom of two boys! The actress and singer announced the big news via social media in the most adorable way, saying she’s “grateful” to be expecting again.
“One incredibly seminal chapter of my life just ended and the next one, as a mother of two, is about to start,” Moore wrote on Instagram. “We are ever so deeply grateful and excited. Baby Boy Goldsmith #2 coming this fall!”
Moore and her husband, musician Taylor Goldsmith, used their one-year-old, Gus, to help make the announcement with him donning a sweet “Big Brother” T-shirt.
“Not to sound cheesy, but all the clichés are true. Life is Technicolor now,” she told Parents of motherhood earlier this year. “It just makes sense in a way that it didn’t before. I had no idea that this degree of love existed in the world.” She also said mornings with Gus are her favorite: “We bring him back to our room and spend the first hour or so hanging out in bed together. Yeah, the morning is magical,” she said.
Moore, who is about to start traveling later in 2022 for her “In Real Life” tour, penned a beautiful note on Mother’s Day, writing in part, “Being your mom is nothing short of the most rewarding and challenging job I’ll ever have. I savor all of it because you are the greatest, Goose, AND it keeps getting better (as everyone told us).”
Speaking of touring, Moore did note that it’s “gonna be slightly different” than expected being pregnant this time around, but as she told Parents, the unknown is just fine for them. “We’re very much still flying by the seat of our pants,” she said, “but I feel like that is parenthood in a nutshell, and we’re going to be doing that for the rest of our lives.”
