Tired of watching the same episode of your kid’s favorite show over and over… and over? A new Netflix feature that shuffles shows could change the way your family watches a series.
Similar to the shuffle function on a music playlist the new feature will shuffle episodes of Netflix series so that viewers can watch random episodes. The idea is that it will encourage viewers to discover new shows when they can’t decide what to watch. The benefit is that you can avoid getting stuck watching the same things over again, which all parents can agree is no fun. The option is currently in the testing phase so it is only available on a few shows and only via the Android mobile app.

“We are testing the ability for members to play a random episode from different TV series on the Android mobile app. These tests typically vary in length of time and by region, and may not become permanent,” a Netflix spokesperson told TechCrunch.
In other words, if it seems to catch on in popularity among Netflix subscribers, there’s a chance you could see it expanded to more shows.
