“BoCoCa” — AKA, the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens — has long attracted a French-speaking and French-loving population, likely influenced by (among other things) the dual language program at area school P.S. 58. In the past year, a host of new French services and businesses have joined the BoCoCa pioneers, making this Brooklyn spot feel like a far-flung arrondissement of Paris. To Dine En Famille: Bar Tabac & La Cigogne

There's never been a shortage of good French food in the area (R.I.P., Patois!), but the options just keep expanding. Neighborhood stalwart Bar Tabac is reliably tasty, while also big and casual enough to support a meal out with the kids. Also sizable is relative newcomer La Cigogne ("Stork," in French), which serves northeastern France Alsatian cuisine fireside and has kids' book in english and French to peruse while waiting for a meal. (Kids can also take a WoodShop class there during the day, FYI.)
