You never really need a reason to have some professional photos taken of your kid or family, but cooler temps, fall foliage and impending holidays are all good ones. (Capturing that fleeting newborn period is of course, another.) One of our favorite NYC photographers is Raquel Frechette, whose work, while beautiful, also feels fun, fresh and organic. Family or kid photo sessions are usually about an hour long, and newborn sessions often last 2-3 hours with a lot of breaks. (None of these session times are set in stone; she's committed to taking whatever time is needed to get the photos just right.)
