Meryl Streep featured in Only Murders in the Building Season 3 teaser
Hulu just dropped a first look at season 3 of Only Murders in the Building, and we get a much-anticipated look at the hit show’s newest cast member—Meryl Streep. While we don’t get too many spoilers, it looks like the legendary actor is reading for a part in Oliver’s latest project.
We originally heard about Streep’s new role in the popular show when star Steve Marin shared a picture of the Season 3 cast to his Instagram feed.
“The filming of “Only Murders in the Building” has begun!” he wrote in the caption.
Co-star Selena Gomez soon got in on the fun of the surprise announcement by posting a video, where she shows the cast hanging out on set. As she pans around to different stars who have appeared on the show, she asks them if things could get any better, until Streep pops up behind them.
“I could cry 😭” Gomez wrote alongside her video. “season 3 is coming!”
In addition to Martin and Gomez, the show stars Martin Short, Tina Fey, Vanessa Aspillaga, Adina Verson, Ryan Broussard, and Andrea Martin. Former Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams is also coming onboard for the third season. And Paul Rudd, who had a cameo in the finale for Season 2, is also joining the cast. Seriously, could this news get any better?
Only Murders in the Building is Hulu’s most popular original comedy series—it spent nine weeks on Nielsen’s top 10 streaming series chart in 2022, racking up 3.67 billion minutes of viewing time in the process. It was also nominated for 17 Emmys following its first season—and won three of those: guest acting honors for Nathan Lane, outstanding production design, and outstanding sound mixing. And all of that before Streep’s name was attached.
