As a parent, finding the right pre-school for your little tyke can be a daunting experience. However, the Sprout Academy in Portland, Or provides parents with a local resource that is all about giving your kids a great place to learn, play, and grow. Interested? Read on. The Sprout Academy’s philosophy is to learn through play and lead by example. They’re an Eco-Healthy certified institution that incorporate methods of going green into their curriculum with nature walks, sustainable crafts, gardening, cultural exploration and much more. The academy roughly follows the Portland Public School schedule, shutting down for two weeks after Labor Day for maintenance. That following Monday is when classes begin. Their last class is the first Friday of June, giving teachers two weeks to prepare for the Sprout Academy’s summer camp. You and your tiny sprout are invited to their last open house date, Thursday, January 26 with two sessions from 5:00pm-6:00 pm and again 6:00pm-7:00 pm. This gives you and the little one a chance to meet the instructors, see the facilities and find out what the Sprout Academy is all about. To find out more about open enrollment, pictures of previous classes and teacher’s newsletters, visit their website.
