The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued its “Framework for Conditional Sailing Order” some time ago, and cruise lines are still making changes to meet the requirements.

With the uncertainty still lingering, Princess Cruises has paused vacations on ships sailing through May 14, 2021. The company had previously cancelled all departures through March 31, 2021 and the new delay affects all sailings in the Caribbean, the California Coast, early season Alaska and Europe cruises.

Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises states “We appreciate the patience from our loyal guests and travel advisors as we work to meet the health and safety requirements for our return to service. We continue to prepare our ships for our return to service and we are eager to see our guests back on board to create summertime memories.”

Those individuals that have booked on cancelled voyages have the option to receive a refundable Future Cruise Credit (FCC) that is equal to 100 percent of the cruise fare paid plus an additional non-refundable bonus FCC equal to 25 percent of the cruise fare paid. All FCCs can be used on any cruises booked by May 1, 2022 and sailing by December 31, 2022.

If you’d like to receive an FCC, no action is required. If you’d like a full cash refund for a booking, guests will need to use this online form. All requests must be made by Feb. 15, 2021 or you will automatically receive the Future Cruise Credit option.
