For parents still recovering from Thanksgiving cooking overload, the last thing you want to do is bake a jumbo batch of sweets for upcoming holiday festivities. Outsource that task and have a pro bake ‘em and bring ‘em to your door! The Bay Area offers a plethora of on-demand, small-batch cookie options that provide fresh oven-to-door delivery. What are you waiting for?

Hey, Cookie

Hey, Cookie

More than a mere cookie company, Hey Cookie’s cookies are delivered with a cheery personal touch that will be extra fun for the lucky kid who gets to answer the door. Founder Christa Hill or one of her staff will arrive at your party looking a bit like a 1950s housewife in a whimsical, vintage smock frock, with ruffles, lace and petticoat (or maybe an apron and polka dots). The fun frocks, some of which are German dirndls and American Square dancing dresses, bring friendliness and frivolity to the delivery service. But, says Christa, it also helps people notice this cookie vendor in a crowd. Hill started her business selling her cookies in Dolores Park, like a strolling ice-cream man. Buyers shout out “hey, cookie!” and she would come over with her basket. She still delivers to parks, pubs and other public spots but she also will deliver her fresh-baked wares to your doorstep.

This year she’s closing up shop from December 17-January 15 so if you want a knock from a happy cookie lady, you’ll need to have your event before then. The minimum order for delivery during the peak season is $100 for 70 cookies delivered, which includes the delivery fee.

Doughbies

Doughbies

Many Bay Area restaurants offer delivery through a third-party courier service but Doughbies has its own awesome courier team who deliver by car, bike, scooter and even motorcycle. They promise delivery of freshly-baked cookies by local bakers in 20 minutes or less.

This holiday season they are offering some special treats including Gingersnap Cookies Dipped in White Chocolate, Peppermint Brookies, Confetti Cookies, Red Velvet Crackle Cookies and Merry and Mini Holiday Cookie Jars. They also have some fun add-on products that would make excellent gifts like the return of their Holiday Hot Cocoa Kit and new items like Elisabeth Der Nederlanden's newest book, Holiday Cookies: Showstopping Recipes to Sweeten the Season, and a bag of freshly-roasted coffee courtesy of Front Coffee Roasters.

Also cool is that Doughbies has an app so you can order your cookies in the car (drive safely) and get them when you arrive.

Cookie Love SF

Cookie Love SF

Cookie Love is a great option for family gatherings because many of their cookie offerings are mini-sized for mini-tykes as well as bigger sizes for . . . mini tykes who like big cookies. There are some wild kid-friendly choices like potato chip cookies and subtle flavors like lavender white chocolate where the sweetness is mellowed with aromatic lavender blossoms. There are also gluten-free options, like their triple chocolate decadence cookie, that are good enough even for gluten eaters. While the Nob Hill store doesn’t deliver independently, they do use Caviar and Caviar waives the delivery fee on your first order, so make it a doozie!
