The East Bay is home to oodles of families, so it’s no wonder some of the very coolest museums for children are there, too. We’ve rounded up some of the best, from a center focused on video game creation to a bird lovers paradise to a spot for little scientists to put on their thinking caps. Berkeley Art Museum/Pacific Film Archive

Until the end of 2014, the museum is hosting a special kids club. It’s an interactive gallery where kids can test out different materials, to make a masterpiece of their own!
