It’s hard to beat a platter of oysters and a chilled glass of something, like bubbly, beer, or some chablis. If you want to enjoy a little luxury without shelling out the big bucks, here are some of the best spots around town offering $1 oysters. Bar Crudo This Divisadero hotspot gets pretty rockin’ at happy hour, and rightfully so, because it’s a good one. This happy hour is particularly nice because you can start with oysters and then move on to some of the more substantial (but still inexpensive) happy hour dishes if you get hungry. Tue.–Fri. from 5 p.m.–6:30 p.m. find $1 oysters, as well as seafood chowder for $5, and rock cod tacos (two for $10). There are beer specials for $3 and wine for $5. Hog & Rocks This Mission spot is all about oysters and pork, so go ahead and get that coppa plate alongside your shellfish. The $1 oysters are available during happy hour, which is Mon.–Fri. 5 p.m.–6 p.m., and you can also find rotating bar snacks and drink specials. The bargain bivalves are also available weekends during brunch, on Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., and Sundays 10:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Score! Mayes Oyster House Swing by this old school San Francisco bar for happy hour Tue.–Sat. from 5 p.m.–7 p.m. and Sunday 5 p.m.–9 p.m. for $1 oysters. There are also $3 beers and $5 glasses of wine and bubbly. Extra bonus: on Tue¬.–Thu., all bottles of wine are half off. Cheers!
