The food! The festivities! The crowds! Sounds like the summer festival season is here. And Seattle’s got plenty of ‘em to keep families entertained from now until your crew heads back to school. Flip through the gallery to see our area faves, with your calendar at the ready.


Celebrating its 69th year, Seafair is one of Seattle's biggest and most beloved festivals, attended by almost two million residents each summer. The Seafair Festival Kick Off starts the ball rolling mid-June, followed by two months of various events, races, parades and localized festivals (think Tour de Terrace, Hispanic Festival, Pista sa Nayon, Salmon Fest, UmojaFest and Kirkland SummerFest). Then head over to the <a target="_blank" href="; target="_blank">Magnolia Summerfest’s Seafair Kids Parade</a>, where the little ones are the star attraction. It’s on August 5, 2017 at 10 a.m., and last year over 500 children participated! A group of kids can even create a float for the parade and win a prize!
